Just attended a meeting getting intoduced to the newest advisor Merlin yesterday. Who or what is Merlin? Just the newest financial tool our company lauched!
Naturally I introduced Jason to Merlin very excitedly. *insert wide smile*
I have been blessed to be a pioneer member with it being in phase one meaning my selected clients and friends get dibs on being introduced to it. Bonus: You get a financial health report which gives you clarity on your current health status! The report has gotten good resposes from my clients from “wah” to their arranging a time to have a zoom call to do a quick review to generate one they can reference to!
It is very encouraging especially since the company is looking to collate consumer feedback since it is created with consumer’s in mind. Jason’s verdict upon getting introduced to it: “wahhhh”
One word, one syllable loaded with (I hope) tons of awe. But hey, don’t take my or his word. If you wanna find out how amazing it is or how it’ll shed light on your action plan, what you need to do moving forward? Experiencing it yourself is best, isn’t it?
The catch up with Jason revolved around catching up, reminisicing how time flies so quickly – it’s been five years since getting to know him! – and naturally ….. we spoke about doing life together, adulting and how time is so, so important to be mindful of.

Asked for his permission to share what struck me in our exchange. Our convo went a little like this ….
J: (fiance name) and I decided to make more effort to visit parents especially when we move out. For example for my dad since my parents separated, I usually only see him once to twice a year which isn’t so good.
Me: (Internally I connected to this. What with my parents also being separated plus my meeting my mum lesser due to personal reasons)
J: Imagine uh .. let’s say he lives to 80 (our conversation sidetracked a lil as we talked about average mortality age etc), he is not 65.
Me: (As I listened, did the math) Meaning since you meet him once to twice a year, that’s …
Both of us: 30 times
The conversation kinda overlapped here with both of us talking about how suddenly 15 years has became 30 times and it isn’t that much time after all.
….. after some time …
J: And that is assuming he lives to 80.
There was an audible moment of silence as we both contemplated. And what really, really shook me was the thought: Am I using my time in a useful manner?
Think about it ….
If you make $18/hr, the purse you buy isn’t $800. It’s 44 hours of your time. That watch isn’t $300. it’s 16 hours of your life. Your car payment isn’t $500/mth, it’s 27 hours of your life every month. Time is your most valuable asset.
Time is essentially money. We gotta spend it on things that matter because time waits for no one.
