8 Uncomfortable Truths You Need To Accept To Grow

  1. Feelings are unavoidable
You will hurt, you will be happy, you will feel. Feeling the moment is part of the process and any attempts to numb it down, play the feelings down or shove it aside does not mean you won’t have to experience it at some point or other. Acknowledge it then establish if this empowers or disempowers you. Choose whether to stay in that state or to switch.
  2. Let It Go
Remember that some people enter your life for a reason, some for a season and some for a lifetime. Master the art of accepting that what will come, will come and what will go, will go.
  3. Look within instead of pointing fingers
Instead of fighting circumstances and questioning “why”; ask yourself “how did what I do lead me here”, “how can I make it better” and “what can I learn from this”.
  4. Nothing is forever
Everything is temporary including your current circumstances. Which means that if you are at your lowest point? Know that the tides will change! And if you feel like you are at the top of the world? Remember to have both feet planted firmly on the ground. Moments will not last forever, appreciate the lesson or blessing that it brings with it.
  5. Always choose (and guard) your thoughts
Many experts have given an estimate to the number of thoughts we have in a day. Say we use the smaller estimate? That gives us approximately 50,000 thought per day which means we have about 2,100 hours per hour! Think of your thoughts like the people coming in and out of a busy train platform. You will come to realiset there are many irrelevant thoughts claiming for your attention. Training your mind to calm the chatter and choosing your thoughts will help you save time, energy and worry!
  6. 99% of the things around us don’t matter
Are you putting second things first? Ask yourself are you spending time on things that don’t matter or things that matter to you and you will realise that you are where you are meant to be!
  7. Life happens for you
Life does not happen to you, it happens FOR you. You attract what you deserve. For example, instead of finding “the one”? BE one. You can’t ask for something you are not willing to do. Once you become comfortable with who you are and in alignment with the things you love, you will naturally attract the person.
  8. Expand your comfort zone
First you will be uncomfortable then you will expand and widen what you are comfortable with. In the process of gaining awareness, you will slay your demons and fears.
