One of the most common new year resolutions? Better health. With so much information readily available, it bags the important question of how do we go about doing it! Here are 3 simple habits you can implement in the new year to start the ball rolling ….
Be Grateful!
Studies have shown that just by being grateful for what you have in life can lead to better physical health. Study participants who kept a journal writing down things they were grateful for had reduced levels of inflammation and better heart rhythm. This could be due to the effect of lower stress levels as gratitude helps us to manage and cope better in stressful times. Follow me on instagram @kendrarenee.live where I’ll be sharing my personal journal prompts daily as reminder on things to be grateful for! And whilst you’re at it, drop me a DM and say hi. Will follow back 🙂
Track & Reduce Your Screen Time
Something I’m being more mindful on too. The excessive amount of time on phones have been linked to increase risk of obsesity, diabetes, sleep problems and depression.
Eat Your Greens!
Regardless of whether you’re attempting to manage your weight or not? Having your greens first may satiate you enough which prevents overeating on unhealthy options. Consuming greens before your carbs also slow down the speed at which carbs are absorbed into the bloodstream, which may have beneficial effects on the blood sugar levels.
