Recently I have been hearing quite a fair bit about Gymm Boxx and wanting some time alone; I decided to head down to Gymm Boxx XL to check it out. It is located at the Bishan Community Center which is a 5 minute walk from the train station. Personally upon reaching the entrance of Gymm Boxx the vibe that greeted me was pleasant. Registering under a first time visitor was swift and I headed to change into my gear. The entry fee for non-members is going at $6. (I was a little surprised on this aspect as prior to going I checked online and it stated $5.)

Anyhows; the layout of Gymm Boxx bishan is pretty simple. It’s structured with the lockers outside the males and females. You can rent a locker at 20 cents. A disclaimer will be that towels aren’t provided in Gymm Boxx. So do remember to pack your own. Thankfully, I was prepared with a small towel. The workout area is pretty wide and open. There were a lot of benches provided at the weights area which in my personal opinion; was a plus-point! Lesser waiting. Heading down on a saturday meant that the gym was quite packed. To say the amount of testosterone in one gym is packed would have been an understatement! There were only three girls in the entire gym, myself included.

Pictures above were lifted off the internet as yours truly was busy with arms & shoulders day and didn’t take pictures. Also, Situated outside the gym is “The Protein Cafe” which is by Fitlion. The focus of the meals at TPC are protein-rich and healthy meals. What caught my eye was the smoothies which is made with Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Powder. I tried their “best of both worlds’ which is a mix of both banana and strawberry. The overall taste was generally alright, not too sweet. However I felt it could have been better. The smoothie is going at $3.50 so check it out when you swing by Gymm Boxx bishan!

So, my overall verdict on Gymm Boxx XL will be 3.5/5. You could say I am spoilt being a member of True Fitness. I’ll say that what Gymm Boxx offers is value for money. In terms of the equipments provided, they are well-kept, there’s sufficient equipments (you should see the amount of threadmills lined up on one end) and the membership rates are afordable. If you are looking for more; I will say check out True Fitness and the likes. (ie Fitness First, Amore, etc) Granted that the membership rate is going to be way higher. However you also get additional amenities such as steam rooms, saunas, swimming pools and many more.

So next time a quiet saturday swings by and you decide to have some me-time? Swing by Gymm Boxx XL and/or their other outlets and check it out. The deets are as follows:
