“Because just as all political and historical change sooner or later disappoints, so does adulthood. So does life. Sometimes i think the purpose of life is to reconcile us to it’s eventual loss by wearing us down, by proving however long it takes, that life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.”
.These days, it’s all about manipulations, well-thought out and executed moves to bring you to where you want to be. How oft are the smiles that come your way truly from the heart? How much of what is being said is truly as it is? The subtext – what is being construed is more oft than not inaccurate. I try my hardest to believe the best of people. But sometimes it gets hard. Sometimes, it feels as though to move forward I have to do the same as they do. And that in itself disgusts me. For where then is honesty from yours truly? And yet, “when in rome, do as the romans do”. So how do you sift honesty out from a pile of lies?
Why does it seem that the older we get we still remain fixed in “high school years”? As teenagers, you see the groups being formed, cliques. You see discriminations based on looks, popularity and intellect. You see how people act to get small things they want and as we grow, the things just get bigger .. what are we truly seeking? Is it worthy of all these backstabbing and complete bull? Then it makes me question how much of our characters develop as we grow. Our attitude and point of views change with time, that is certain. And we develop new habits and ecentricities. But character? Do we truly change for the better? Then how did “a leopard never changes it’s spots” come about?
Pragmatically; I would say one doesn’t stray too far from how one originally was. Optimistically, you try ever so hard to convince yourself that people do change character-wise for the better. And yet, life never was truly a bed of roses was it?
